A bit of life in Loyangaloni Kenya…..
Dearest friends,
Well, our first month and a half in Loy has gone by quickly. We have been working and making friends. Some interesting firsts for me have included purchasing and cooking with camel meat and having a scorpion land on my chest! Ahhhh! (Don’t worry, I wasn’t stung!) Paul is staying busy working on the children’s dorms and leading morning devotions. He has started going through Genesis and has even been drawing charts to help explain creation and other topics. Everyone seems to be learning, enjoying, and asking questions. I have been cleaning, killing bugs, teaching a Sunday school class, and working on Swahili. Please pray for my grasping of this language! I am trying to memorize like crazy but my mind sometimes turns to goo. :-) Annabelle plays all day long! She also loves helping her daddy in the shop and me around the house. Whenever she hears any type of machinery she will call out, “Daddy!” convinced that he is coming home to take her on a quick 4-wheeler ride! We have also traveled a bit as a few weeks ago we were able to visit a neighboring mission station—Gatab. It was so nice to get cool for a night, visit with our friends, and even bring back some fresh, green, veggies! The weather here continues to be warm—or course! So, we are drinking lots of water and getting used to being hot!
Love,
Callie for Paul and Bella too
