Dear friends and family,
We are so excited to announce that
we are the proud parents of a healthy little boy (if you think 9 lbs. 4
oz. and 21 inches long is little). On March 3, at 6:46 in the morning
Timothy Scott Kamps entered our world via c-section. We immediately
fell in love with our precious son. Of course we’d been falling in love
with him for nine months, but what an incredible joy it was to finally
see him!
We were privileged to have many of
our family members come and visit recently, and are excited about more
visits promised in the future. They just can’t stay away now that
Timothy is here! We also were able to take a quick trip up to Michigan
to pick up some things that were donated to The Stable. It was a great
excuse to briefly visit with our family and friends (and show our baby
off to those who hadn’t seen him).
As we adjust to life with a little
one, much of our life remains the same. Things continue to go well at
The Stable and at church. At The Stable, Scott has recently been
teaching about the power of the tongue and how the things we say reveal
where our heart is. We pray God will use the study to turn the hearts,
and as a result, the mouths of many of the kids.
With the arrival of spring and
warmer weather, we have begun to meet outside with the youth group at
church on Wednesday nights. We have already played several games of
volleyball after Bible studies and now have switched to kickball to
accommodate some of our younger players. Timothy is learning his sports
early!
Scott has been teaching Bible
class at The Master’s Mission every morning for the past couple of weeks
while Paul is in Africa. He is enjoying his time there with the
trainees, including one family from Uganda and one from Kazakhstan. (He
is also enjoying his time playing with children of the staff and
trainees before class starts).
On Sunday, the Graham County
Rescue Squad held its annual ramp festival. In conjunction with that,
we were asked to be involved at The Family Fun Fest across the street
from the ramp festival. We created a display showcasing The Stable and
borrowed the county’s dunking booth. There we held “Dunk the Monk,”
capitalizing on the medieval theme of this years funfest. Scott went
all out; he dressed in a monk outfit and shaved a circle on the top of
his head to look like a monk. We were amazed by how often he was
dunked. Now he has a sunburned circle on the top of his head, which is
completely shaved, to remind him and many of the Stable kids of that
eventful day. They find it very entertaining.
Those are just a few of the things
keeping us busy lately, besides cuddling and playing with and caring for
the newest addition to our family. We hope and pray that you are
experiencing the joy and provision of the Lord, as we are. Thank you
for your prayers and support. |
