Jim and Barb Teasdale

Jim is the son of long-term missionaries and the grandson of long-term missionaries on both sides of his family. He spent most of his formative years in East Africa and graduated from Rift Valley Academy. By then, he had seen his parents’ (and grandparents’) constant faith in God, consistent lives, and compassion for those around them. He knew that unless God directed elsewhere, he wanted to dedicate his life to making disciples of Jesus Christ at "the ends of the earth".

Jim met Barb—a New Jersey girl—at Wheaton College. He quickly realized she was out of his league. When he found out she too was preparing for a lifetime of mission ministry, he knew he had to pursue her. They were married in 1979. After Barb graduated in 1980, they spent the summer on the newly purchased campus of The Master’s Mission. The following year, they headed to Africa to replace furloughed missionaries.

Upon returning from Africa, Jim finished an engineering degree at John Brown University and spent the subsequent twelve years at The Master's Mission facilities in North Carolina. There he helped develop the campus and the missionary training program, and began teaching missionary candidates.

In ‘93, they returned to Africa as missionaries. They spent 20 years as pioneer church planters at "Loiyangalani" in North East Kenya.

Currently, Jim and Barb reside at The Master's Mission where Jim serves as the Executive Director. He also pastors Little Snowbird Baptist Church, which is a member of the Cherokee Baptist Association, in the Cherokee Nation.  The Master's Mission is currently recruiting the next generation of leadership for the Mission. Jim and Barb are looking forward to serving in Africa again soon.

Paul and Sarah Carson

Paul and Sarah Carson are the most recent addition to the TMM family. Originally from Montana, the Carsons relocated to the great state of North Carolina in the fall of 2020.

After nearly 20 years in the welding construction and building trades, the Lord directed the Carsons to sell their architectural metal fabrication business and enter Bible college in Southeastern Wyoming.

While attending Frontier School of the Bible, Paul and his family were introduced to the Master’s Mission through Jim Teasdale as he shared about service opportunities with TMM. After meeting with the mission staff and leadership, The Master’s Mission formally invited the Carsons to join the mission with Paul serving as the Associate Executive Director. Paul assists in recruiting missionaries, missionary field support, and day-to-day operations of the mission.

The Carson’s are blessed to have 6 children with ages ranging from 7-17. With 3 boys and 3 girls there is always a pair or more of helping hands to participate in the responsibilities and activities around the homestead and the mission.

Adding to the adventure is one wander-lusting hound dog, 3 dozen chickens, a hive of bees, and whatever else Paul’s wife, Sarah, can convince him is necessary for the character development and nutritional sustenance of their brood. According to Paul, the mountains and woods on the mission serve as an ideal environment for their family to witness and enjoy the majesty of God’s awe-inspiring creation with the much-added blessing of “doing life” with God’s gracious people.
